<p>Today the <u>Raspberry</u> has taken on a  new direction and all the focus or attention has been directed towards a solution for weight loss. The raspberry has been enjoyed for centuries, but it has never seen this much attention. There are nutritionist who are claiming remarkable results. For  those who have enjoyed the raspberry,  they have also found that the raspberry contains significant amounts of polyphenol antioxidants.  These antioxidants such as anthocyanin pigments have been linked to potential health protection against several human diseases.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>Raspberry Health Value</strong></span></h2>
<p>The aggregate fruit structure of the raspberry contributes to its nutritional value, as it increases the proportion of dietary fibre, placing it among plant foods with the highest fibre contents known, up to 20% fibre per total weight.</p>
<p>Raspberries are a rich source of vitamin C, with 30 mg per serving of 1 cup (about 50% daily value), manganese (about 60% daily value) and dietary fibre (30% daily value). Contents of B vitamins 1-3, folic acid, magnesium, copper and iron are considerable in raspberries.</p>
<p><strong><em>Did you know the raspberry ranks near the top of all fruits for antioxidant strength</em></strong>, particularly due to their dense contents of ellagic acid, quercetin, gallic acid, anthocyanins, cyanidins, pelargonidins, catechins, kaempferol and salicylic acid. Yellow raspberries and others with pale-coloured fruits are lower in anthocyanins.</p>
<p>You may have guessed this due their rich contents of antioxidant vitamin C and the polyphenols mentioned above, raspberries have an ORAC value (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) of about 4900 per 100 grams, including them among the top-ranked ORAC fruits. Cranberries and wild blueberries have around 9000 ORAC units, where as apples only average 2800.</p>
<p>For now there are no clinical studies to date, proving these effects in humans, antioxidant and antiproliferative (chemopreventive) effects against cancer have been linked to the amount of phenolics and flavonoids in various foods including raspberries.</p>
<p>Raspberries are a low-glycemic index food, as are most other berries.</p>

This then goes through catalytic hydrogenation to produce raspberry ketone. This method produces a 99% yield.</p>

<p>It was the similarity of raspberry ketone to adrenaline and ephedrine in their structural formula  that caught the attention of some Japanese researchers which led them to study its effect on mice. High blood pressure and diabetes seem to be the apparent symptoms along with heart diseases. Why do we do this to ourselves&#8230; a road to ill health? Is it just because of having  no plan, regarding our eating habits?</p>
<h1>The Dash Eating Plan</h1>
<p>Now we have come to realize that a plan that is flexible and that is balanced  regarding our eating has shown to be beneficial to our health. Now the Dash diet, the Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension, is such a plan, which has proven to provide a eating plan, that if followed, provides health benefits.</p>
<p><strong>The DASH eating plan was one of three eating plans</strong> that were compared in research studies sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). Their intentions of this research, was to research the effects of diet  regarding one&#8217;s high blood pressure.</p>
<p>The results of the research showed&#8230;</p>

<li>Is low in saturated fat, cholesterol, and total fat</li>
<li>Focuses on fruits, vegetables, and fat-free or low-fat milk and milk products</li>

<p>The DASH diet has been recently named as one of the best overall diets by US News and World Report. Rich in potassium, magnesium, calcium, protein and fiber, this eating plan has other powerful health benefits in addition to lowering blood pressure and warding off cardiovascular related diseases. <p>The Dash Diet, like any other changes taken towards your eating habits, must be considered regarding your current health conditions. If questionable, seek council from a nutritionists or Doctor before doing so. The studies have not indicated any adverse side affects of such diet, but the diet is new as well. It is very similar to a couple other diets that have been around for some time. The indications for those who have health problems such as diabetes or kidney illness to talk with your doctor before making a decision.</p>

<p>Today more than ever before, diets have exploded! The need, or our desires to look like we were 20 or 30 years ago, can be a  individual realization, we just have to lose some weight. A trip to the doctor, stepping on the scales, leads us to believe we have put on a few extra pounds. Another note, just unable to fit into the same clothes, seems to be the first clue that are body is blooming in size. Anyway, now that we have come to this new revelation&#8230; its the conclusion that I must asked, &#8220;Have we lost our senses about &#8220;The Food Diets?</p>
<h2> Have We Lost Our Senses</h2>
<p>Diets for most people, do not make any sense anyway. You may rebut that comment and some of you could be very right, but you are in a minority. Most people are almost addicted to the thought of trying the latest <b>diet</b>, can not control their desire to try the next <u>diet</u>. They are so crazed or obsessed with the need for dieting, they will try any diet. That perhaps is a bold statement&#8230; but one click of the word diet in Google and I need to say no more. My question to you is&#8230; Why?</p>

<p>I only can believe that food and diets will never cease to be! Our very need to loose weight, because we are an obese society, diets will be looked at, as the solution, not the problem. You may already know this, but for those who do not, this was some research to prove how we have lost our senses when it comes to foods and diets. <p>The above examples prove&#8230;you just choose your favorite food to eat and some one has provided a tried and proven diet for you. It is a utopia for those who are seeking their favorite food to eat and lose all that weight you are desiring to lose. Diets can be only successful, and they rarely are when you just target one particular food or group. Why&#8230; your body goes into shock and you lose weight on short term and gain weight long term. Your body is not prepared for your actions and rebels. This can become serious and lead to health problems much greater than the weight itself.</p>
<p>Perhaps more likely to succeed, is old school, but still stands, burning more calories than your body takes in, proper foods for nutrition, and exercise. Eating in moderation always is as important, and drinking plenty of water.  With that in mine allows you to eat most foods when you have a craving, so long as you do not make a habit of eating them all the time. I believe that much easier to hold onto some kind of eating habit such as this, than some of the above diets, which will lose their charm.</p>
<h2><strong>Todays Health Comments</strong></h2>
<p>The word diet seems to lead people astray, perhaps some have lost their senses, while others are capitalizing on the money that has been spent in this industry. There seems that anyone or every one could share their weight lose program and a new diet could be formed, if that person has a certain amount of social media following. Almost every food has the diet word following, whether it has any value or not.and left up to those who try it, to be the judge.</p>
<p>The reality there is no easy way just like the weight did not pile up in a day or two, so it not going to leave in a day or two. Since we seem to live in a faster pace life today, we expect our diet to lose in the same way&#8230; FAST. That is when disappointment set in and most likely the old diet is out the window and on to the new. In the meantime, nothing lost and back to the gaining because when we get our emotions into our diet( frustration and disappointment) we eat to satisfy our emotions.</p>
<p>It just might be time to listen to those nutritionist, trainers, or Doctors who actually know what they are talking about so your diet is worthy of your body needs.</p>

<p>Today, with the summer upon us, we do seem to think more about our appearance, as we have shed the layers of clothes. The need for fitting into last years swimming attire or finding the summers activities just a little more difficult from the added weight. We all know th<img class="alignright" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a1/FoodSourcesOfMagnesium.jpg/220px-FoodSourcesOfMagnesium.jpg" alt="" width="220" height="338" />at we are being constantly reminded, that today about 64% of all us, are in the over weight category. That perhaps is not a good sign, for our future health. Now recognizing these facts, the word diet is probably discussed more times a day than we even want to know about. Our emotions that are attached to this four letter word, &#8220;DIET&#8221;, simply is, we are preyed upon by marketing experts,  to not only be disappointed but lighten your wallets.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #ff0000">Marketing</span></h2>
<p>The vastness of  marketing anything with the word diet can be seen and heard every moment of the day, all the media we are exposed to, and greatly on the Net, and social media. You can find such lines:</p>
<ol>

<li>America&#8217;s Top 10 -Diets</li>
<li>Hottest Diet for the Summer</li>
<li>Diet Pills That Work</li>
<li>Hottest Diet Program in America</li>

<li>Lean and Hot Diet Pills</li>
</ol>
<p style="text-align: justify">It is so amazing that  these lines not only entice us but encourage to take some form of action. Mostly we become so intrigued with these statements, we lose site of what is really needed to actually lose weight, and not to be disappointed with the results of our actions. If we were to actually find a diet that may work or actually be beneficial to our health needs, all would be settled. As we all know there has been no such thing, though claims that are made contrary to this statement.</p>
<h2 style="text-align: justify"><span style="color: #3366ff">Why Diets Disappoint</span></h2>
<p style="text-align: justify">There are numerous reasons diets disappoint&#8230; Why, because we are not clones or machines that all function in the same manner, so the most studied, laboratory tested, calorie calculated, and nutrition and exercise added in, is going to have the same health effects on all those who chose to take on any particular diet. Other words what work for one may not work for another, so this brings us to the real truth, why there are hundreds and hundreds of diets created. Lastly, but equally important today, is FAST RESULTS and GREAT EXPECTATIONS are apparently the marketing key that seem to be over rated, leaving disappointments, and an excuse to explore another diet as we are talking.</p>
<h2 style="text-align: justify"><strong><span style="color: #339966">Diets and Lighter Wallets</span></strong></h2>
<p style="text-align: justify">Some may find their diet program a one time shot at the wallet&#8230;purchasing some book or e-book on line, this may not have broke you, and may have had some educational value even if the diet did not work. However, some of the programs have several steps over a period of time and they are marketing their own products, so they trap you in buying a monthly nutrition program. I am not saying these do not work, just saying some can be costly, and when do you quit.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Others just seem to be compulsive to purchasing the latest diet, like collecting the latest fad, habit forming, and are now compulsive buyers of many many diets, not giving any of them even a half chance, but more into purchasing the latest and coolest diet.</p>
<h2 style="text-align: justify"><span style="color: #993300">Solution or Resolution</span></h2>
<p style="text-align: justify"> What Diets maybe part of the solution to our over weight problem, certainly eating properly, educating ourselves regarding the foods which can enhance our health, and getting the proper exercise, may all be learned through proper diets. Now, that sounds so simple, but it is not what people want to hear today&#8230; because it is just plain hard mentally and physically some days to swallow.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The resolution may be what works for others may not work for you, and the sooner this is recognized, the better you may be health wise and the less stress you may have put on your health. Many of these diets do not take into consideration the shock you put your body through just to temporarily lose weight.</p>
<h2 style="text-align: justify"><span style="color: #000000">Todays Health Comments</span></h2>
<p style="text-align: justify">Today it seems anyone can create a diet. Our wallets become lighter, and our health is second best and the results are disappointing because they do not add up to all the hype. All the shows that promote healthy alternatives, are followed in about the same manner as the yearly check up to the doctor, your glad its out of the way, and you are going live your life the way you want to anyway. Unfortunately, that&#8217;s why &#8220;Diets&#8221; are Very Big Business today! Until we get smart and figure out that money spent on Diet programs is much more important to some than our health, they will continue to market them.</p>

<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Health Risk</span> </strong>One gram of seaweed has several times the amount of iodine that most adults require on a daily basis.  Its effect could include changes in thyroid function due to iodine excess.</p>
<p><strong>ForsLean</strong>: ForsLean is derived from the root of Coleaus forskohlii, which is native to warm temperate habitats including India, and is the only known plant source of the natural compound Forskolin. <p><strong>Green tea:</strong>Green tea has been shown to promote some weight loss. However, it needs to be used in relatively high concentration, and contain high levels of catechins. In Lipofuze, the amount of green tea present in the formulation is not indicated.</p>

<p><strong>Other ingredients</strong>in the LipoFuze formulation include cinnamon, phenylethylamine, ginger, and 20-hydroxyecdysone (a plant steroid considered to have anabolic activity in mammals).</p>
<h2><span style="color: #0000ff">Is Lipofuze effective?</span></h2>
<p> Searching the user feedback on Lipofuze has greatly varied.  There are some have reported fast weight loss in the first few days (water loss?) when combined with diet and exercise. What I did not find, was those  who had taken for a period of time, but many who were inquiring, or just stating. I found also no routine exercise or diet suggested. Perhaps overlooked?</p>

<p>Today&#8217;s diet is in a need of a overhaul, many people recognizing the need to make changes in their diet. With the expanding waistlines, diabetes hitting record numbers, and illnesses and health care costs becoming no longer affordable,  a miracle maybe just what&#8217;s needed.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #0000ff">Miracles</span></h2>
<p>A explanation of a  miracle is often considered a fortuitous event some believe this action or event to be compared with an Act of God. The casual usage of the word &#8220;Miracle&#8221; may also refer to any statistic that is unlikely but may be beneficial to someone. In the event of perhaps surviving a natural disaster, life threatening situation or  the survival of a terminal illness.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #0000ff">The Miracle Word</span></h2>
<p>The word used to capture our faith, to motivate us to believe in, that such a diet exists today&#8230; is the word &#8221;Miracle&#8221;. We all in some way want to believe that this will or can happen. Its the WHY&#8230; the word Miracle has been used endlessly in Diets. Have they become the Miracle you have been seeking? For Most they have not, the real words required to obtain such benefits are eating healthy and exercising daily.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #0000ff">The Real Miracle</span></h2>
<p>Is not the diet that people are clinging onto because of the Miracle word is attached to it, it&#8217;s the &#8220;miracle&#8221; not in word, but in the trust within themselves to take the necessary steps in their diet  to lose weight. So the miracle maybe the trust and belief within themselves to eat properly, exercise accordingly, and the long term benefits will result in a healthier you.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #0000ff">Today&#8217;s Health Comment</span></h2>
<p>Today&#8217;s &#8220;Miracle&#8221; is not of the Divine nature but perhaps those may understand that the real Miracle in dieting is within themselves not in the name of the diet. No matter how much the diet implies there is a miracle within its plan, no miracle is bound to happen by these words alone. It all comes down to you, eating properly and exercising accordingly. You are entitled to a greater health.</p>

<p>Today&#8217;s Article brings  a new view point on how are health has been influence by where we shop and also where we live. A recent study to be released on Walmarts super centres has been grabbed up on the Internet. This study actually implicates, that Walmart by merely their presence, is adding pounds to our waistline, contributing to our obesity. I have included some excerpts and the link to this article. <p>From the Montreal Gazette:</p>
<blockquote><p>“The researchers found that one new Walmart supercentre per 100,000 residents meant an average weight gain of 1.5 pounds per person sometime over a 10-year period dating from the store&#8217;s opening. It also boosted the obesity rate by 2.3 percentage points, meaning that for every 100 people, two who weren&#8217;t obese ended up in that category after a superstore opened. ”</p></blockquote>
<p> One of the study&#8217;s authors says the root cause is both the low cost of food at Walmart and the quality of the food sold there.</p>
<p><strong>&#8220;I think the most obvious story is that Walmart lowers the price of foods and a lot of the foods it has big price advantages on are the processed, inner-aisle types of food that aren&#8217;t that good for you,&#8221; explains the researcher from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.</strong></p>
<p><strong>The study, which will be published in the March issue of the Journal of Urban Economics, found that women, low-income families and those in less densely populated areas are the ones most likely to experience weight gain after a new Walmart opens</strong>.</p>

<p> Walmart  announce their 5 year program  to provide customers with &#8220;healthier and more affordable food choices. This announcement  being given in Washington, DC with First Lady Michelle Obama. Michelle Obama who is a strong  supporter of  Walmarts Actions.</p>
<p>Walmart&#8217;s five-year plan labeled  &#8221;Let&#8217;s Move&#8221;,  was developed in cooperation with Michelle Obama, aims to reduce unhealthy salts, fats and sugars in thousands of packaged foods. This program will begin by slashing prices on fruits and vegetables, to make these healthy choices, more attractive to its customers.</p>
<p>The nation&#8217;s largest retailer will set specific targets for lowering sodium and trans fats in Walmart food products, modeled after similar guidelines used in New York City&#8217;s health initiative, according to details first published in The New York Times.</p>

<p>Today I applaud the thought (&#8220;Lets Move&#8221;) of even a little  change, is for the better. Is this just another marketing strategy for Walmart when under fire, only time will tell. Almost all will know shortly, if this will be action to draw more customers to the fruit isle&#8230;passing through the same center isle that has all the junk food. That may sound a little pessimistic, but Walmart brings a certain reputation along with their need to stay number 1! It is always going to market driven.  After all, we are responsible for our health today and the choices of food we eat, not Walmart.</p>

<h2><span style="color: #333333">The first two, the tastants and the diet pills&#8230; </span></h2>
<p>will most likely be around for a long time. For most they represent what we have become and how we got there in the first place. We have put our bodies in second place of all things that come before us.To be straight forward here, our bodies have been placed on &#8220;The Back Burner&#8221; and left for action later. Then some event or situation falls upon us, after years of complacentcy, recognition of this, becomes immediately apparent. Now we are looking for that quick fix. We can continue to eat every thing that got us that way in the first place, look and feel beautiful about ourselves, by the simple shake of salt or a pill. Thus continuing the same path as before, except now some one is empting your pocket book, and you now must take these for the rest of your life. Did you buy that?</p>
<p>Now common sense tells us, that is, no way, no how, going to happen for a very long time. Thats is why, soon as the new thing on the block hits the media&#8230; they are on it like a hound dog is to the fox.</p>

<p> &#8221;We found in earlier studies that middle-aged and older people who drank two cups of water before eating a meal ate between 75 and 90 fewer calories during that meal. In this recent study, we found that over the course of 12 weeks, dieters who drank water before meals, three times per day, lost about 5 pounds more than dieters who did not increase their water intake,&#8221; Dr Davy said.</p>

<p>Getting enough fiber is something people don&#8217;t think about all that often. Let&#8217;s face it: Most of us haven&#8217;t a clue how many grams of fiber we&#8217;re taking in on a typical day.</p>
<p>And guess what? We&#8217;re not even close to meeting the recommended intakes of 20-35 grams a day for healthy adults (25 daily grams for those eating 2,000 calories per day, for example, and 30 grams for 2,500 calories a day) according to the American Dietetic Association. The mean fiber intake in the U.S. is 14-15 grams a day.</p>
<p>We get fiber from unprocessed foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and beans, and most Americans aren&#8217;t exactly loading their plates with these items. You&#8217;d be hard pressed to find any of them in your average fast-food value meal.</p>
<p>And Americans are definitely eating more prepared and processed foods. Consumption of food prepared away from home increased from 18% of our total calories to 32% of total calories between 1977 and 1996. All this &#8220;away&#8221; food not only has more calories and fat per meal than home-prepared foods, but also less fiber (on a per-calorie basis).</p>
<h2><span style="color: #333333">Why Do We Need Fiber?</span></h2>
<p>It&#8217;s hard to believe that something we can&#8217;t even digest can be so good for us! A higher-fiber diet has been shown to lower blood cholesterol levels and prevent constipation. High-fiber foods also tend to contain more nutrients and fewer calories, are digested more slowly, and help us feel full sooner.</p>

<p>It derived over time, starting perhaps with the hamburgers, pizza, and TV Dinners, the ease of taking the meal out of the kitchen or delivering it to your door. Fast food has found its home in America. It  may come now, in Chinese , Italian, Spanish or Mexican food, as some examples. It is now as they say&#8230; &#8221;A way of American life&#8221;. Fast food has taken on many aspects of our Culture&#8230;there are greasy spoon places, who lure you by their deep fried foods, those who super-size every thing, and there are those whom use the very best ingredients to promote healthy foods.  </p>

You know, despite the fact, long ago that fast food, entered our life and is now part of us, many people are not willing to accept it.  Fast food is often criticized and not without reason.  For many aspects fast food is believed to represent the best and the worst  of American Culture. Many believe that numerous marketing commercials feature fast foods to be influencing youth and children as well.Yet nothing is usually mentioned about the danger that Fast food might present to their health.<br />

The increasing rates of <strong>obesity </strong>in the United States among children and adults have reached epidemic numbers, a whopper 64%.  </p>

In an  their effort to lose weight people purchase weight loss pills, herbal supplements,and formulated weight loss drinks. Among the common types of diets,  many people  are food-focused, such as the grapefruit diet, the banana diet, or a wine drinker&#8217;s diet,  emphasizing on consumption of only one, or a few, foods. Supplements such as pills, liquids, or powders that contain nutrients  have all become a part, reflecting on this culture. </p>
