Today’s Health Article   

From the very day we are born, life journey takes on  several changes in our health, that we must  face. 

Our health situation may change several times during our life, some folks have few changes while others may have many health problems. Some changes  take on a lasting path,  having  medical conditions that will alter their way of life, perhaps their whole life.

Each and every day there after our infancy, we continual to be faced with the dependence of our environment, from the very air we breathe to the food we eat, to home we live in, to the love of family and friends, or the absence thereof. Perhaps these conditions leads us through the early years to be dependent on all who surrounds our particular set of changes. Perhaps few questions are seldom asked regarding the  medical choices because of this dependent relationship.

So where is this all leading to, from the day we are breaking in our new teeth, we are taking common medicines to relieve the pain, then there is the headache when we get hit playing on the school yard, or the broken bones. Next in life, its the strain muscles, or over exertion from either the growing pains, or just over doing it. Then there is becoming an adult with a whole new ball game of changes from preventive measures, to birth control, to having a child, to maintaining a healthy body.

Obviously we go through a lot of changes in our life, and the real kicker of this article is that  with all these changes we have become dependent on medicine to cure our aches and pains, our depressions, our addictions, cravings, and now even a longer sex life.

You have to ask yourself…Is your medical profession over prescribing medicines, as they are now being accused of,  or are we as the public, demanding that we be treated for everything that comes along with a pill.

Is this leading to medical addiction?  I find it so ironic that we, the public are demanding the availability of some  of these medicines.  If you listen to the long list of the side effects, why would you choose to use that medicine without consulting a professional. The commercials on TV now days prove this very point, they spend more air time disclosing the side effects than the commercial itself. The last question you have to ask “When is enough, enough”?

To maintain a healthier life, changes are going to be a part of it, aches and pains will always be there, and medicines will be as well.The real solution here is knowing when consultation, a trip to the Doctor’s office is needed and when  not to. If unsure, seek professional advise before taking new medications. A balance can be maintained between the two. If you are taking medicine unnecessarily you may be endangering your life.
