American Heart Month
The month of February is American Heart Month , this is observed each year at this time, to encourage others, to take care of their hearts. Why, it’s important, heart disease, is the nation’s No. 1 killer, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In the week’s to come, Articles will cover ways to protect our hearts, young and old.
Within these article tips and steps will be listed to advise and understand symptoms relating to heart disease. There are a several free tools and events that make jump-starting a heart-healthy lifestyle easier for you.
The American Heart Association has an online assessment tool called My Life Check (mylifecheck.heart.org), it prompts you to enter the stats on your cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, smoking status, weekly physical activity and diet and weight and then gives you a Heart Score, which ranges from zero to 10. If there are any areas that could use improvement, the program lists several “resolution” options, such as seeing a dietitian to come up with new meal plans or eating a little less every day. You can check your score as often as you like to track your progress.

Today, heart attacks and strokes are many times life-and-death emergencies — every second counts. If you feel any of the symptoms, immediately call 9-1-1 or your emergency response number.
Maybe only a few signs will occur in a heart attack or stroke and they may even go away and return. My thoughts are ” You are better to be safe than sorry” Yes, there are other health symptoms that feel similiar to a heart attack… but are you qualified to determine ?
