<p><em>We all get caught up sometimes, more often than not, in the media or marketing hype of certain foods or drinks</em>. What may be good for one person may not be for another. How may we become Green Tea smart?  This article is presenting, what I have found to be beneficial for you, &#8220;Green Tea Lovers&#8221;, and also perhaps, some surprising facts that may have an impact on how Green Tea may relate to one&#8217;s health. </p>
<h2><span style="color: #008000">Green Tea Is&#8230;</span></h2>
<p>Made solely with the leaves of <em>Camellia sinensis</em> that have undergone minimal oxidation during processing. Green tea originates from the country of China. Green <img class="alignright" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_7tK4vjnHGrw/TJQX3YUFFoI/AAAAAAAAAEA/Y-oiVvKOh1k/s1600/lg_nestea_green_tea.jpg" alt="" width="79" height="211" />Tea has become familiar with many cultures in Asia, Japan, South Korea to the Middle East.</p>
<p>It was not til recently, Green Tea has become more widespread in this country, where black tea  has  traditionally been the tea drank. There are many varieties of green tea have been created in countries where they are grown. These varieties can differ substantially due to various growing conditions, production processing, and harvesting time.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #008000">How many Varieties Can You Name?</span></h2>
<p>Many varieties have been provided here with their links.<a title="Aracha" href="/wiki/Aracha">Aracha</a> · <a title="Bancha" href="/wiki/Bancha">Bancha</a> · <a title="Bi Luo Chun tea" href="/wiki/Bi_Luo_Chun_tea">Bi Luo Chun</a> · <a title="Chun Mee tea" href="/wiki/Chun_Mee_tea">Chun Mee</a> · <a title="Da Fang tea" href="/wiki/Da_Fang_tea">Da Fang</a> · <a title="Genmaicha" href="/wiki/Genmaicha">Genmaicha</a> · <a title="Guapian tea" href="/wiki/Guapian_tea">Guapian</a> · <a title="Gunpowder tea" href="/wiki/Gunpowder_tea">Gunpowder</a> · <a title="Gyokuro" href="/wiki/Gyokuro">Gyokuro</a> · <a title="Hojicha" href="/wiki/Hojicha">Hojicha</a> · <a title="Hou Kui tea" href="/wiki/Hou_Kui_tea">Hou Kui</a> · <a title="Huang Shan Mao Feng tea" href="/wiki/Huang_Shan_Mao_Feng_tea">Huang Shan Mao Feng</a> · <a title="Hyson" href="/wiki/Hyson">Hyson</a> · <a title="Kabusecha tea" href="/wiki/Kabusecha_tea">Kabusecha</a> · <a title="Kamairicha tea" href="/wiki/Kamairicha_tea">Kamairicha</a> · <a title="Konacha tea" href="/wiki/Konacha_tea">Konacha</a> · <a title="Kukicha" href="/wiki/Kukicha">Kukicha</a> · <a title="Longjing tea" href="/wiki/Longjing_tea">Longjing</a> · <a title="Matcha" href="/wiki/Matcha">Matcha</a> · <a title="Mao Jian tea" href="/wiki/Mao_Jian_tea">Mao Jian</a> · <a title="Mecha tea" href="/wiki/Mecha_tea">Mecha</a> · <a title="Meng Ding Gan Lu tea" href="/wiki/Meng_Ding_Gan_Lu_tea">Meng Ding Gan Lu</a> · <a title="Sencha" href="/wiki/Sencha">Sencha</a> · <a title="Shincha" href="/wiki/Shincha">Shincha</a> · <a title="Tamaryokucha" href="/wiki/Tamaryokucha">Tamaryokucha</a></p>

<h2> <span style="color: #008000">How Many Health Benefits Can you Name?</span></h2>
<p>Over several decades green tea has been the subject of  many scientific and medical studies.Why, to determine the extent of it&#8217;s long-purported health benefits. There are some evidence, suggesting that regular green tea drinkers have:</p>
<ul>
<li>A  lower chances of heart disease and developing certain types of cancer.</li>
<li> Green tea does not raise the metabolic rate enough to produce immediate weight loss. Green tea extract containing polyphenols and caffeine. This has been shown to induce thermogenesis and stimulate fat oxidation,  boosting the metabolic rate 4% without increasing the heart rate.</li>
<li>According to a survey released by United States Department of Agriculture in 2007, &#8220;The average content of flavonoids in a cup of green tea is higher than that in the same volume of other food and drink items that are traditionally considered of health contributing nature, including fresh fruits, vegetable juices or wine.&#8221;</li>
<li>Flavonoids are a group of phytochemicals in most plant products that are responsible for such health effects as anti-oxidative and anticarcinogenic functions.<img class="alignright" style="border: 0px" src="image/jpeg;base64,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" border="0" alt="" width="108" height="157" align="middle" /></li>
<li>Green Tea contains a special compound called theanine, which has been known to stimulate alpha brain waves, calm the body, and promote relaxed awareness</li>
<li>Theanine and Caffeine &#8211; The  2007 breakthrough studies found that green tea regenerates damaged brain cells and is a viable treatment option for multiple sclerosis patients</li>
<li>Tea and High Blood Pressure&#8230; A 2004 study found that regular tea drinkers are 65% less likely to develop high blood pressure if they drink more than two cups a day.</li>
<li>Tea and Insulin Sensitivity. A study discovered that drinking 6 cups of tea per day for 8 weeks reduces blood sugar levels by 15% to 20%.</li>
<li>Tea and Smoking. A study conducted by the University of Arizona found that it reduces cellular damage by 25%.</li>
<li> Tea can help. Unlike soft drinks, tea is non-erosive. It also fights mouth viruses and reduces bad breath.</li>
<li>UK Scientists found that tea is healthier than pure water. They dispelled the common belief that tea dehydrates. Tea not only rehydrates as well as water does, it also has many other health benefits.</li>

<p><strong>Tea contains about half the amount of caffeine found in coffee</strong>, The consumption of green tea is unlikely to cause problems for the majority of people, however if you are <strong>sensitive to caffeine</strong>, here are the symptoms to watch out for: restlessness, irritability, sleeping problems, tremor, heart palpitations, loss of appetite, upset stomach, nausea, frequent urination, and skin rash may occur.</p>
<ul>
<li>If you have a sensitive stomach. Stomach upset is the second most common complaint after caffeine. A 1984 study concluded that &#8220;tea is a potent stimulant of gastric acid, and this can be reduced by adding milk and sugar.&#8221; <a href="green-tea-and-stomach-gastric-irritation.html">Tea and Stomach Gastric Irritation</a></li>
<li> Green tea contains caffeine, catechins and tannic acids. All three substances have been linked to pregnancy risks.</li>
<li>Tea is known as a &#8220;negative calories&#8221; beverage. Not only does it contain virtually no calories, it also block the absorption of certain nutrients.</li>
<li>One concern is iron mal absorption. A 2001 study reports that green tea extract reduces the absorption of non-heme iron by 25%.</li>
<li>A 2005 study found that long-term drinkers develop protective mechanism by having heavier parotic glands. The protein rich saliva neutralises the harmful effect of tea tannin</li>
<li>Drinking too much tea can be dangerous. Especially if the tea is low quality or contains Fluoride</li>
<li>Green tea, like any other tea beverages, can interfere and interact with certain medications.</li>
</ul>
<h2><a href="green-tea-and-medical-interaction.html"><span style="color: #ff0000">Tea and Medical Interaction</span></a></h2>
<p>Green tea contains caffeine which can increase heart rate and blood pressure, though people who consume caffeine regularly, don&#8217;t seem to experience  long-term effects. Caffeine can also increase blood sugar level and Diabetics patients should drink it cautiously.</p>
<p> Those with psychological disorders, especially anxiety or panic disorders, and overactive thyroid or hyperthyroidism.</p>
<p><span style="color: #ff0000"><strong>Finally, if you have any other health concerns,  Consult with your health adviser before drinking green tea.</strong></span></p>

<p>Most people think of  <span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>&#8220;WATER</strong></span>&#8221; as the most needed for a healthy body. Water is crucial for survival &#8212; it&#8217;s the foundation for your body fluids such as your  blood and digestive juices.</p>
<p>Water helps nutrients get absorbed and be transported, and it helps eliminate waste. If you should lose as little as 1 percent to 2 percent of your body weight, it can seriously impact your body&#8217;s ability to function. It&#8217;s commonly said that you should drink eight eight-ounce glasses of water a day to stay healthy. This is just a common rule, as so many factors can affect how much water your body needs.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">CAUTION:</span></strong> not all water is EQUAL, or even good for you.  Some Tap water can be potentially contaminated with chemicals, pesticides or even pharmaceutical drugs.</p>
<p> And bottled water, which is regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has weaker regulations than the Environmental Protection Agency requires for tap water.Purifing your water through various processes, sometimes the need to boiling your water, or filtration of water may provide a healthier water.</p>
<p>This comes down to reading the fine print.</p>
<p><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Milk </strong></span>curbs food cravings, helps protect against osteoporosis, stabilizes blood sugar,  is the ideal source of calcium,  it contains vitamin D, which is needed for maximum calcium absorption. &#8216;The calcium causes your body&#8217;s cells to burn the fat,allowing  those who are seeking to loose weight, to  choose this drink.   See also our Past article on Chocalate Milk.</p>
<div> <strong><span style="color: #0000ff">Green Tea</span> i</strong>t helps reduce risk of osteoporosis, cancer, heart disease and cavities. Green tea contains a rich concentration of flavonoids and polyphenols, natural antioxidants that mayprotect cells from carcinogens (cancer-causing substances) and inhibit tumor growth by helping to neutralize free radicals in the body.</div>
<p><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Mint Tea</strong></span> eases cramps and helps ward off indigestion. &#8220;Mint is an antispasmodic, so it can relax muscles, which combats stiffness and aches.</p>
<p><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Soy Milk </strong></span>lowers risk of heart disease, contains soluble fiber and soy protein, which lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol levels and triglycerides, reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, but Soy contains phytoestrogens, which may be linked to an increased risk of breast cancer. </p>
<p> <span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Tomato Juice </strong></span>may protect against several cancers. Tomato products are the richest source of the antioxidant lycopene, reducing the risk of lung and stomach cancer, as well as pancreatic, colorectal, esophageal, oral, breast and cervical cancers. Lycopene also appears to protect the lungs and heart against oxidative damage.</p>
<p><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Cranberry Juice </strong></span>helps prevent gum disease. Research suggests that the same anti-bacterial properties present in cranberry juice that fight off urinary tract infections may also protect against periodontal disease. Experts theorize that a component of the juice called nondialysable material (NDM) inhibits bacteria from sticking to the gums.</p>
<p><span style="color: #0000ff"><strong>Orange Juice </strong></span>is an excellent source of vitamin C, may also ward off cataracts, cancers and birth defects. It can boost your immunity.  Orange juice is also a potent antioxidant that may protect you against a variety of diseases. Vitamin C  improves immune-cell functioning, enabling your body to fight off infections more efficiently. Most would agree that eating whole fruit is always better for you than drinking their juice.You may want to limit your intake to no more than one glass (six to eight ounces) daily. &#8220;Make sure the label says 100 percent juice, not &#8216;juice drink&#8217; or &#8216;cocktail.&#8221;&#8216;</p>
